FERRY HOUSE is located on a 60 acre site on the shores of Loch Creran. We obtained planning permission for this new 2 bedroom cottage as a replacement for an old ruin. The ground floor living space is treated very simply...the design is open plan with a long glazed screen looking out over the loch to the mountains of Mull. External barn doors close over this to give a feeling of enclosure and security. The design has a light touch and the subtle use of traditional materials reinforce the rural simplicity of the building.
